试译《Song to Celia》         

【题记】本•琼森（Ben Jonson，约1572年6月－1637年8月），英格兰文艺复兴剧作家、诗人。这首《致西莉亚》是一首爱情诗，语言明快，格调浪漫，具有收敛的古典美。全诗共分两节，每节八行，第一节主题为敬酒，第二节主题为献花。奇数行为四音步抑扬格，偶数行为三音步抑扬格，每节偶数行押韵。翻译时遵照原诗，两节分别用了不同韵脚。

或在杯边留下香吻，

我将不再追寻美酒。

渴望跟随灵魂升起，

何祈啜呷神来一口。

纵然赐我天帝琼浆，

岂能来将香吻易手。

         

前曾赠你玫瑰花环。

不止为将敬慕通传。

只求它能承载希望，

与你相伴永不凋残。

惜你只在花间轻嗅，

随即便将此花送还。

尔后繁枝芬芳蓬勃，

信誓因你令花卓然。

Drink to me only with thine eyes,         

And I will pledge with mine;         

Or leave a kiss in the cup         

And I'll not look for wine.         

The thirst that from the soul doth rise         

Doth ask a drink divine;         

But might I of Jove's nectar sup,         

I would not change for thine.         

         

I sent thee late a rosy wreath,         

Not so much honouring thee         

As giving it a hope that there         

It could not wither'ed be;         

But thou thereon didst only breathe         

And sent'st it back to me;         

Since when it grows, and smells, I swear,         

Not of itself but thee!
